PP Cotton
PP cotton is a dense web of fine polypropylene fibres, and it's the first thing your water passes through. Anything solid gets caught in the web: rust flakes from old pipes, sand and other sediment. It traps particles as small as 5 microns, thinner than a strand of hair, and it turns brown as it fills up, so you can actually see your filter working.
